I'm having a problem with Firefox. It works fine but after a while, it stops working. For example, I'll be surfing fine for about 30 mins or hours, and all of a sudden it stops working. I get an error stating:
"Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at <url inserted here>"
and
"Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.

* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

And I noticed a "Stopped" on my status bar. My other internet connections are working from the same computer (IE, chatting program still works).

So I tried to close Firefox and all the Firefox windows are closed (but it is still running in my task manager). When I try to start it up again, it states: "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system."
So I go into the Task Manager and firefox.exe is running with 131,116k or so memory from my previous session. I try to end the process but it does not allow me.

I have done several things to try to fix this, uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox, looked at my firewall and even removed my firewall (to troubleshoot), and searched the web for solutions but I have had no luck so far.

OS: Vista
Firefox v3.0.10
Firewall: ZoneAlarm Pro

The only thing that appears to fix is by rebooting the machine, but it takes a while for the computer to shutdown (I guess its taking a while to kill the firefox.exe process). Does anyone know how to fix this?
