If you like slowing down your internet performance, the more extensions the better.

Haven't noticed a huge difference in speed, except when I used Tabbrowser Preferences.

It's nice to have a lot of functionality reachable in two or three clicks.

My must have FireFox extensions are:
  • Adblock
  • User Agent Switcher
  • Scrapbook
  • BugMeNot
  • ForecastFox
  • StumbleUpon

Same except for the Scrapbook, replace that with SessionSaver.

scrapbook and sessionsaver are great. i prefer scrapbook over sessionsaver though.

How are they different?

they aren't at all the same. the only thing sessionsaver does is if you close your browser with a bunch of tabs open and reopen it, it will restore your browser to its former configuration with all urls and tabs open.

scrapbook, on the other hand (for everyone else, not you, ross) lets you grab code from web pages for offline viewing. it's particularly ideal (for me, at least), to save pages with a lot of graphics and to keep the graphic formatting intact (such as a page with images that are specifically ordered but may not be named appropriately).
