Has anyone seen this issue. Lately with Firefox for what ever reason seems to pause/ hangs / micro stutters a lot lately

It really apparent when you got to scroll a page, even for example the forums here.
I can scroll down like 3-4 headings and then it will pause, some times goes to hanging here it says not responding and then will continue to scroll.

This seems to happen no matter what I do, just usual browsing, or just open a tab some times. But can easily see it when scrolling.

Tried clearing cache, reset to defaults, turn off any addon / extentions , reboot, full shutdown.
Turned off hardware acceleration.

Im at a loss as to what could be causing it. And it only seems to be happending to firefox, edge, ie, chrome all seem fine

HW Specs laptop i-8550u / 16gb ram / ssd / win 10 1709. Everything is up to date

--=== Here is the Fix ===--
firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

Do you notice any "heavier than usual" disk access while the program is stuttering? Are there any sites that are worse than others?

I have not, and I am on the latest release. Running it on three different installs. As a test, try a new profile with no add-ins and see if the issues stays.

For disk usage, not really. Its hard to tell with an ssd, but I did look briefly in task manager and it did not seem so
I have also tried a fresh profile, fresh profile with both 64 and 32 bit version as well as a nightly version to see if maybe it was 60/61 that was the issue. and tried back to 58 as well

All the same thing. As for website, it does not seem to matter, as it even does it when you go into the options page as well

I am, but not the same as you.

If I right click on a link, and select "Open in new tab" It will seem like it locks up the entire PC, then about 2-3 seconds later, it opens the tab as normal. It continues to do this with every tab I open, but works normally after that.

Hardware accel is OFF, and "content process limit" is set to 2, as per Mozilla's recommendation. Using FF 61.0.1

Yep tried, limit process to 2, tried with hardware acceleration off.
Funny thing is, it works fine on my desktop with the same version without issue

Found the fix, it is as follows

firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

That was turned off by default on my install.
