I tried everything I can but I can't get firefox to install macromedia flash plugins, I even tried it manually but it's not working any suggestions, I uninstalled firefox that comes with fedora tried the one that comes from the mozilla website, but same result, I think the problem is because I am running the 64-bit version of Fedora Core 4 but there must be a workaround,

Any help is appreciated.

After doing what the guy suggestesd in the macromedia forums, I still faced problems concerning the x86_64 archietecture, so I went through the code to see if there are any other modules that detect some other system aspects and made some adjustments to it, I was able to go on after that with installation process and right untill the end It talks about the file xpti.dat I'll pastte the results down here :

The reason linux is not mainstream. Why can't they make the install a one click affair.

LOL, well you are talking about an issue that once I posted about, alot of Linux guru's here just bashed me up and down, anyway this is not the issue in this case becuase , flash and java plugins that I am having problems installing usually install automatically upon request through firefox, but due to running firefox on a 64-bit system everyone needs to put grab their balls, more like what happened to Win98/ME programs when people tried to run them on XP , but on FC 4 i386 I had no issue at all , but I agree eventhough we now have easy to use apps such as , synaptic, yumextender,,,etx Linux users are still being directed to go to the terminal which for some users can be a nasty thing to do, sigh .... one day maybe
Linux will mature to be more user friendly, but hey I can't demand anything I am not paying a cent for FC 4 so I can't just demand answers I can only complain here on AT ;) and , but Wni XP has to work allright because I am paying those a$$holes in redmond some serious dough, or else.
