Firefox messing up pages.

I re-installed XP clean yesterday, did a system update. Put the latest Firefox on. About 1/3 of the pages I go to come up as a bunch of garbble. No graphics, no words, just "??????'s" and some other junk Pages I always went to before come up like that now. wondering exactly what it might be.
