Firefox loading Google personalized home page twice

I've noticed some strange behavior with Firefox on my laptop lately.

My home page is set to Google's Personalized Home page, when I open Firefox, it loads it once, then immediatly reloads the page. The 'Back' arrow is now green, showing "Google" as a previously visited site. If I click the "Home" button, it does the same thing.

If I set my home page to another site, like standard Google, eBay, etc, it loads normally.

I don't think this is happening on my desktop, but I'm not 100% sure (I'll check at lunch in a couple hours). They're running the same version of Firefox, with slightly different extensions, but nothing that should be doing this.

Anyone else have the same problem, or can at least test it out for me? I did some looking and it appears it might be loading the page twice to get the Favicon, but eBay has one and it doesn't do that. Maybe the favicon isn't getting cached somehow? Is there a way I can check to see if it is?

Bumping this because I think I figured it out - it's because I added Google Calander to my page. The same thing happens on IE. I removed the calander and it works fine now.

It appears other content things cause the same issue. The standard ones from google (Wired News, etc) don't seem to cause it.
