It's embarassing asking this question, but how do you set Firefox to open new links as new tabs instead of a new window? I know you can press CTRL-T to open a new blank tab, but I want to do this with links.

I thought you have to use Tab Browser Extension for that behavior (I assume you mean links that open in new windows, like those in posts here in the forums).

If that's not what you mean, middle-click the link.

you can middle click the link.

but i think many people are asking for Firefox DEVS to include an option for "SINGLE WINDOW MODE" all links, javascript popups will stay in 1 firefox window.

im sure TBE has that option.

The middle-click behavior is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

I guess I need that extension for a regular left-click to open a tab instead of a new window?

Also, once you get TabBrowser Extension installed, you can set it so that EVERYTHING opens in a new tab, or make it so some, such as links on the same site, will open in the same tab. It seals the deal for me. I cannot stand all those windows opening.

I installed the SingleWindow extension and it's exactly what I needed. I'm suprised it's not a built-in feature as I expected to be able to enable it like in Opera.

I would think it would be less common to want a new window, so that functionality should have been put on Mid-click and new tab on left click.

Eh? I use the middle button all the time, makes more sense to put commonly used functions on commonly used buttons. :)

the thing that annoys me is when a javascript window opens at 300x300 pixles. Because im opening it in a new tab instead of a new window, the WHOLE FREAKIN BROWSER resizes itself to 300x300. Argh.

There is an option to not let anything resize the Window.
