Gig of PC3200 RAM on a a64 3200+. Doesnt matter if i have one window open or 30. When i click a link (esp when I open new tab) there's a delay of a couple of seconds before it actually starts loading. That's not really a problem, but CPU usage jumps to 100% for those 2 seconds and it makes it so that I can never surf the web while watching video. The video skips every time i click a freakin link. Anyone else notice this? IE seems to work fine...

Mine does that sometimes too, CPU usage doesnt jump, it just refuses to load sites it normally would [Google, anantech, etc] but IE will open em right up sometimes, then again I do have to run ad aware after using IE for a site or 2 :(

Right-click anywhere on the about:config and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0".

Sorry, can't offer anymore help because I don't have this problem on RedHat and WinXP. However, I've heard people sing praises on MOOX optimized Firefox. Maybe you can give that a try.

These are the extensions that I have:
OpenBook
QuickNote
AdBlock
MouseGestures
miniT
