Firefox just jumped the shark. Any good no scripts for Chrome?

Firefox opened with a forced ad so that relationship is over. Any good no script addons for Chrome?

Are you talking about the "Colorways" thing? That feels like a post-update one-off. Definitely not enough to get me onto the pustule that is Chrome. Despite essentially every update to FF for the last 5+ years making it worse in some way, it's still better than Chrome.

I'm going to have to restart FF just to see what you're talking about.

First thing I did lol .... nothing in my install! ;)

I use a VPN with Sandboxie Plus (open source) and delete the SB contents every time.

EDIT: Wait... OP meant the tab that opens after an update? Really?

I'll never use chrome or a chromium browser if I can help it. Firefox will have to get waaaaay worse before I switch to gnome web or konqueror.

Oh, the horror of it all. I just can't even deal with it today........

I had to click "no thanks" once, and it likely ruined my entire month! :p ;)

I know, right? Such horrid inconvenience, for something that you don't even pay for...
And don't get me started on when Windows 10 has an update, and it asks me if I want to restore Microsoft's recommended settings like using Edge as the default browser! And no Amazon, I don't want to activate my free trial for Audible!

God damn worst things ever! ;)

That blue-ish screen, that pops up every third boot of Win10, nagging me to "enhance my Windows experience, by getting an MS ID and activating cortana" has GOT to go. It only offers the options of "remind me later" or "yes".

Step one of a fresh Win10 install, disable Cortana as much as is still feasible :D

Annoying? Hell yes, but that's how all Windows versions will be go forward.

There's always various Linux based OSs to switch to if a person can't handle the various Windows nag screens, but I've come to expect/accept it if I choose to continue using Windows going forward.

In the strictest sense it's an ad. It's saying "Hey! We got something new! Wanna check it out?". I checked it out on the secretary's machine. I like it, but it'll be quite awhile before it gets to me. I'm still on 78esr, and when it upgrades, I'll be on 91esr for a looong time.

The problem is that I run my mining rigs headlessly. So that when they auto-update, and then auto-reboot, sometimes the don't get to Windows, just that annoying screen, and I have to remote in.

You probably saw the one time colorways feature to customize firefox's colors/theme. There was tick box about it becoming your home page or new tab page if I remember right. I unticked that box. The colorways thing is a temporary feature that's going to go away after the next two updates but you'll be able to keep the last theme you use before update 96.

PS: Chrome and Edge have noscript and ublock origin.

Oh, yeah, I got that thing. Main issue was being a bit baffled as to what it was and why it was there. Had me briefly worrying about malware. I am hoping it was indeed a "post-update one-off". I still am none-the-wiser as to what "colorways" is (and don't really want to know).
