I can connect fine using IE8 but even in safe mode firefox won't connect to evga.com I can even ping it but firefox will not connect to it.
 
Works fine for me too in 3.6. It looks like they're using Flash like crazy, so if you have it disabled and ad-blocking running that might be your problem.
 
I have NoScript, AdBlock, CookieSafe, and Ghostery (in Linux), and I can still connect with Firefox 3.6. Any chance it got added to your hosts file for ad blocking? (Were you pinging 127.0.0.1?)
