I am running the newest version of Firefox. Dell d600, 1.8mhz, 1.2gig ram. FF was running fine and then I got into a bad habit and started using IE again. When I went back to FF it took over a minute to open. I uninstalled and reinstalled it but it hasn't gotten any better. Sometimes it takes up to 4 minutes to open. I am running Centrino Hardware Control on my laptop and can see that when I click on the icon to open FF, by cpu speed will increase for about a second and then it will cut back again. I don't think it is doing anything, just sitting at idle. If I open task manager, I can't see any cpu activity while it's waiting to open.
I know that it is supposed to be a little slower to open and then much faster and better than IE, but I don't think this is a normal problem.
Any help?

Try deleting your FF profile. It's located under C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\application data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles. You can backup your bookmarks by making a copy of bookmarks.html.
