So, Ive been going a little crazy with this problem, and I need some outside opinions.
EDIT: I thought it should be said, this is XP pro.
When I first reboot or disable/enable the network connection, i get about 30s-2m of connectivity for web transfers, and then nada. Firefox doesnt even give me a connection
My PC is connected to SBC DSL through a router, which has up until last night functioned perfectly. No other computers attached to the router are affected, which leads me to believe we dont have a hardware problem on the global scale. As far as the PC itself, nothing is leading me to believe we have a hardware issue.
Ive run adaware and spybot S&D, both of which have come up empty handed. Ive run the winsock fix several times several different ways, reset the stack, flushed the DNS, and applied a few registry fixes along the way. Still nothing. The crazy part is that AIM stays connected through the whole thing. I can chat away, but I cant surf to any web pages or retrieve imap or pop mail through thunderbird. IE gives me a weird www.www.<website>.com.something whenever i attempt to use it, and FireFox simply states "Done," producing a blank white screen without even attempting to load a page.
Any thoughts would be most appreciated because I am out of ideas.
