I just dl'ed and installed firefox on xp pro, but I the tabbed browsing doesn't work?! Here is a screenshot of my settings:

Firefox Settings

The only way that a new tab opens is when I CTRL + click a link. Otherwise, it just opens a new window.

For example: http://www.warp2search.net - scroll down and click on the jasc paint shop pro picture. Firefox opens a new window here and NOT a new tab. Or even when I click on the above link a new window is open.

This is getting annoying as tabbed browsing is why I switched to firefox. How do I fix this?

Tools > Options > Advanced > Tabbed Browsing....
Open links from other applications in: a new tab in the most recent window.
and
Force Links that open new windows to open in:
a new tab

in the address bar type "about:config"

To enable the options set "browser.tabs.showSingleWindowModePrefs" to true

It should be there

Worked....you rock my friend....you rock indeed.

I wonder why this option wasn't enabled by default? I even found it in the help manual. wierd.

I just switched to firefox, but am having a small issue. When using a site like packetnews.com, on IE i was able to click a link and launch mirc, along with copying a particular phrase to my clipboard (ie a bot command), so I could easily paste the phrase into an mirc window. Now with firefox, it will automatically launch mirc when the links are selected, but will not copy the phrase to the clipboard. Is there a way to do this ?
