firefox does not keep me logged in

in forums, webmail, etc.
even if i click remember me.

i've tired clearing cookies and everything.

this happened in 3beta and now 3.0

I assume you have all the corresponding boxes checked in your preferences right?

it works on my other PC, just not this one.
some googling says it has something to do with cookies or some anti-spyware blocking cookies.

Could be your add-on's. Particularly privacy ones like proxy. If proxy switches servers, you're seen as another PC.

never mind, i got it.
uninstalled FF, deleted the dir from program files (had a diff dir for each beta install i did), deleted all registry keys and all is good now.

i had this problem with firefox 3, too, but i fixed it by upgrading to the newer nightly 3.x firefox builds

argh, i am mistaken, it still happens using this newer build of firefox 3.

i restart firefox3, and am still logged in to crymod.com and anandtech, but at some point i am no longer logged in.
FF2 always worked fine for me.

i just cleared all my cookies and cache, i'll know soon if that fixed this problem
edit: that did *not* fix it.

Don't clear cookies while you're logged on or you'll be logged out. You may have some privacy software doing this transparently.

i'm not using any privacy software or privacy firefox extensions

i use some common extensions, adblock plus, ie tab, greasemonkey, download helper (easily download youtube videos)

weird one, as firefox 2 always worked fine for me.

yup, just uninstall, delete dirs, delete reg keys, reinstall worked for me.
