FIREFOX: displaying intl chars

sometimes it displays portuguese accents properly and sometimes it just displays question marks... here's an example, see if you guys can see these:

çççç
~~~~`ã ñ
^^^^ ê î
´´´´ é í
```` à è

this gets pretty annoying for me, is there a plugin or option or something i'm doing wrong?
i read the news every morning online and i only noticed this today, so it can't be happening all the time either...

any suggestions? thx!

You should check to see if the encoding is being handled correctly by looking at View->Character Encoding. It should be Unicode (UTF-8) or some Portugese-relevant encoding.
