Can it? If not is there a plug-in that lets me do that? I'd like to block Flash on a per-site basis.

Interesting, thanks...I know that with Ubuntu / Firefox, my citicard account won't let me log in until I disable the flash.

Flashblock has become a necessity since the days of Rick Rolling! I once Rick Rolled about 700 people clicking on a link from a system whose audio output was connected to a 10kW PA system!

p.s. There is something far worse than a Rick Roll and that's a Rook Howl! :D

Thank you. But it wasn't exactly what I was looking for.. The Flashblock add-on is an all-or-nothing approach. I want to be able to see non-animated images, if available. For example, if I go to the following page @the Egg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130227

And click on the image, then it will open up a page with multiple flashes. In Opera, I can right-click on empty area, then select "Edit site preference" from the drop-down menu. From there I can untick "Enable Plug-ins". Then the above page will open plain JPG images, instead of Flash. Some sites do have non-flash pages, and with this option I can still view images without waiting for Flash to load. I was looking for something equivalent for Firefox.

Adblock can do basically what you described as in Opera.

You can ad in exemptions for flashblock so you don't for example always have to click ok for everytime you want to see a video on youtube.

I prefer noscript to flashblock. It serves the same function AND it can block javascript. It also allows exemption if you want for a whole website.
