I've got my Firefox 1.5 beta 1 set to automatic update. I wonder if it'll fetch the new beta and install it without any intervention on my part.

On slashdot, they seem to think that the automatic update won't be activated for a few days. I'll wait and see how it goes.

As in you don't want to upgrade to 1.5 final when it gets released?

No, as in my 1.5 Beta 1 wanted me to upgrade to 1.0.7 when it came out.

edit: Err.. or maybe not. I think I upgraded my home PC to the Beta, but my work machine still had the latest released and that was the one asking to upgrade. Nevermind.

Is it ready for prime time? I've been think about trying it again since so many of you here swear by it?

"Firefox 1.5 Beta 2" is, by definition, not ready for primetime, otherwise it would be called "Firefox 1.5" :)

That said, I've used it for about 1.5 hours so far and it seems fine to me.

I get an error right off the bat when I try to install it, WTF!!!

EDIT:Had to install the non beta first.:Q I also had to make a change in windows so links would open in Firefox and not IE. I'm going to try this for at least a week.

OK, first problem. Is there anyway to close tabs by double clicking?

Ok, that seems to have brought a new problem. Now when I open a reply window, the window won't close, and the original topic window doesn't autoupdate now.

EDIT: I had another extension installed that was for improving tab browsing. I removed it, and all is well again.
