FireFox used to have a great popup blocker, it would prevent scripts from running on pages and tabbed browsing.

Now, I can visit any site with a pop up or pop under and they always appear, countless times FireFox will go to 100% CPU Usage because there is some buggy script trying to run and almost all other browsers have tabbed browsing now.

It's hard to recommend it anymore when there is very little that separates it from the rest.

firefox will go to 100% CPU usage for me too... just out of know where.

and while i do not ever suffer from pop ups, the ad block and no script act weirdly together and there are some site i just cannot get to work.

I am having some issues with it myself but it is still better than IE. Maybe it is time to play with Opera...

I've already responded several of the other hundred threads about FF. Do a search.

Post in the right forum, n00b!
I used to think you were a mod, now I know you're just anal in general :)

You used to think I was a mod despite the numerous threads charging so followed by my negating it and even me personally telling you as much?

I believe the 100% usage thing is related to a problem with Flash. I had this problem and installed AdBlock & FlashBlock. No problems since

(1) Install a free hosts file & it'll block all that stuff.

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

About every 2 weeks look for an updated hosts file on that site. Install each new one right over top of old one.

(2) Also install the little utility to lock the hosts file, so nothing can worm its way into there.
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm#Locking

You don't need any of that other hosts file stuff they also offer on that site, such as utilities to edit or rename it. All that just over-complicates it. Just get the updated hosts file approx. every 2 weeks.

Goodbye pop-ups.

Honestly, other than tabbed browsing, what does FF have over IE???? I always use FF...but sitll I admit it's just because of tabbed browsing...it doesn't offer any other feature that's not on IE in some form
EXTENTIONS! SessionSaver is awesome. If Firefox closes unexpectedly for any reason (power outage, windows crash, FF crash, accidently kick the power cord out of the back of the computer with your foot, whatever) all I have to do is reopen it and it'll reload all the pages I had open.

Another extension I use is downTHEMall! which allows me to download all links to pictures on a page.

Adblock is another great extension. Because of adblock I haven't seen an ad in over a year. :p
