Firefox annoyance

Everytime I download a .mpg file, it attempts to save it with a .mpg.mpa extension. Basically tacking on the .mpa extension. It's just a matter of me renaming the file, but I'd like if I didn't have to do it everytime. Does anybody know how to change this? This comes from links with plain ol' .mpg files, but firefox appears to rename them. Thanks =)

I don't have a link handy..... but it's ANY link with the MPG extension. Always auto-attaches the .mpa extension to the end of the file.

Are you using the latest version? I remember this being an issue a while back (1.4?).

EDIT: 1.4 being the Mozilla verion of course.

It's the latest version of Firefox I think, 1.0 previewI believe. I had the problem with the version right before that too.
