On my Windows 7 Ultimate laptop I installed Firefox 7 (upgrading from 6... maybe I should turn off those nasty upgrade notifications!) and now I can't browse with Firefox. I get this message:
Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.
[OK]
Of course, I have no idea how to fix the problem. I certainly didn't screw around with read/write attributes and the HD is nowhere near full. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 7 and the problem persists. I did not uncheck the box saying to keep my personal data and customizations, not wanting to lose all that. Do I have to uninstall all that? I could export the Firefox data from a working version on one of my other PCs and import to this machine, but it's a PITA. I could also revert to Firefox 6.xx, but I swear I'm having a hard time finding a download for it and anyway, I'm not sure that's necessary. What do you think? :\
