Merge and Release Dates

These are planned branch migration dates based on the current Development Specifics draft. They may change if the process changes. Note: Code is not always released to users on the same day as the branch migration. The release to users may be a few days later, to allow for manual testing and sign-off.

  • 2011-06-21: Firefox 5 -> mozilla-release
  • 2011-07-05: Firefox 7 -> mozilla-aurora; Firefox 6 -> mozilla-beta
  • 2011-08-16: Firefox 8 -> mozilla-aurora; Firefox 7 -> mozilla-beta; Firefox 6 -> mozilla-release
  • 2011-09-27: Firefox 9 -> mozilla-aurora; Firefox 8 -> mozilla-beta; Firefox 7 -> mozilla-release
...and so on, every six weeks. For more past and future dates, see /Calendar.

oh god, this IS a lot better. running on my netbook using 74mb and it feels completely lighter on its feet. i run a single core atom netbook, and this seems like a very welcomed improvement

Two tabs open, 170MB. Don't really care if it's much or not, stuff is running smooth and fast (since FF4).

But Chrome 13 isn't?

Running 7 now and its great. Haven't encountered any problems. Love the idea of the user studies.

chrome doesn't bombard you with its version number. you wouldn't even know what it was were it not for the "about" menu item.

WaterFox is also available in 7.0beta1. Using it right now. Seems pretty snappy. Not sure I like what they did to the text rendering. Now it seems... too sharp. Before it was kinda subdued. Now it pops out and demands your attention. I was used to the older text rendering, it was seemingly easier on the eyes.

1. Checked my memory usage in 6.0 (143K used)
2. Dloaded my FF7, my first beta ever
3. Installed it and noticed four of my add-ons were not compatible
4. Fired it up
5. Checked memory usage in 7.0 beta (138K used)
6. Used the beta complaint button to complain
7. I uninstalled it and went back to 6.0
