I've been a long time firefox user but have recently switched to chrome. Ever since firefox switched to the new version scheme I've found it less and less stable.

Strange, i haven't had many stability problems in years. Maybe it's your system/config?

And, oddly enough, all my favorite add-ons work. Now, if they could just get it to not suck up so much RAM...

Revoked the root certificate for DigiNotar due to fraudulent SSL certificate issuance (see bug 682927 and the security advisory)

doesn't this one change qualify for version 7.0 at the very least? if atleast 6.5. Mozilla revoked an SSL certificated no less!

It's a minor update, therefore shouldn't this qualify as version 7.0? :p
Haha! Exactly.

More and more I'm moving over to Chrome as Firefox rapidly becomes everything I hated about IE.

So 13 versions in 3 years is better? (actually 14 since the first version was 0.2.149)

I can't stand the rapid update stuff. Chrome does it so much better. I do however, keep a pre beta build of firefox on my system (Aurora). Right now its version 8.0a2. I'm getting updates for it daily.
