Firefox Extension signing enforcement on Stable and Beta releases has been pushed back another version. Mozilla aims to remove the override switch in Firefox 48 now. The reason given is that there are not unbranded Stable and Beta releases available right now that add-on developers need for testing their add-ons.

Firefox ESR 38.x is no longer supported.

Firefox 47 gets support for Google Widevine CDM (Content Decryption Module).

about:performance and about:debugging are two new internal pages.




It is on the ftp but recommended to wait until it is pushed to the update channels if you want or available to download on firefox.com

Can we roll back to the prior version if we allow the update to V47 ?
I am on V42 right now and not sure just how good the new V47 will be
or if all my add ons will still do what they should do. I do have my Bookmarks
and a FEBE Backup of all the Extensions, but that is a real pain to reinstall
each one seperately.

Hmm, looks like ctrl+'=' or ctrl+'-' is broken? Can't make the text bigger/smaller now?

I believe you can just uninstall it and then install the older version after that as long as you don't delete your profile information.

FYI Ctrl + and - are working fine for me.

I think about:performance and about:debugging could really come in handy! This new version feels a bit faster as well.

Thanks, Chief, but since we can still use old unsigned add ons, I am fine with this release.
I did have to update from No Squint to No Squint Plus and am still playing with Zoom Levels
(both site and text zoom) for some sites, but otherwise all is well (one computer showed up with that Hello crap on the toolbar) .. I will get rid of it tomorrow.

Type “loop.enabled” into the filter box at the top of the list of settings. You’ll see a “loop.enabled” preference which is set to “true” by default. Double-click it and it will be set to “false”. Close and reopen Firefox and Firefox Hello will be completely disabled. To reenable it in the future, visit about:config and double-click the “loop.enabled” preference to set it back to “true”.


To disable Pocket, visit the same about:config page — type about:config into Firefox’s address bar and press Enter — and agree to the same warning. Type “pocket.enabled” into the filter box. You’ll see a “browser.pocket.enabled” preference appear, set to “true” by default. Double-click the “browser.pocket.enabled” preference to set it to “false”. Restart Firefox and Pocket will be completely disabled. To reenable Pocket in the future, visit about:config and double-click the “browser.pocket.enabled” preference to set it back to “true”.

HTTPS Everywhere is likely already compatible with e10s[1]. It seems initial support was added in late 2014, early 2015. As mentioned in the article uBlock Origin is also already compatible so that covers two of the major addons that a lot of people use on Firefox. uBlock Origin can function as a replacement for NoScript and pretty much has feature parity. There's also uMatrix which can import NoScript rules if you want something with more granularity (closer to NoScript?) than just using uBlock Origin.

Anyone else seeing mild corruption of random things? Like for example, the bookmarks still have a outlined box when you move away from the link?
This is with 368.39 drivers on my nvidia box.

Have not seen that - but also haven't updated my drivers in a few months.

Maybe try a different driver, like a beta?
