Whats the problem with the beta 1 and beta 2?
Every time I launch it, and click on any of the tabs across the top (file/edit/view/history/etc) I get a long, narrow, blank box that pops up, and none of the contents from the sub menus are even visible. Any ideas why it does this or how to fix it?

 
create an entirely new profile for the beta alone. If you already had a previous Firefox 2.x profile, you'll have problems if you try to run these betas on the old profiles.

v3 uses a new bookmarking and history system so they won't be compatible

Really? That's odd. My bookmarks are perfectly fine and my printing is the same as it was under Firefox 2.
 
I have not tried the beta builds .. will wait for it to be final.
I hope it will be able to properly use the old 2.x bookmarks
or else automatically import them properly
 
What I really want is full control over my bookmarks.

Firefox 2.x builds didn't quite let you do it. They had a default bookmark that you couldn't delete, but at least you could rename it.

Firefox 3.x betas do not let you customize those preset bookmarks and they are very, very annoying. Beta 2 is even worse than 1 because it has more than 1 preset bookmark that you cannot rename without screwing up a bunch of things.

Let me do what I want with my bookmarks!
 
You can move the bookmarks around, you just have to fight with firefox to do it. I imported my v2 and ie bookmarks and they're now ordered the way I like them.

Mozilla needs to put the manage bookmarks option back in the bookmarks list.
 
Using Beta 2 right now and it looks like Beta 3 is due out the first week of February.

FF3 is faster, less memory hog and less prone to error hang (from my usual error expectatctions).

However, I have noticed that when I clear only specific items in the Clear Private Data (checkbox specific items only and not all), it clears everything.

I did some reading on their wiki and it looks some printer issues will be resolved in F3B3.

my firefox leakage was godly... about 1-1.5gb usage😕 I had to switch over to IE7 for a while, was going to get back to Opera but decided to check out the FF Beta

About half of my lower end extensions weren't compatible. But with Adblocker Plus and Noscript, it can do for now
