Firefox 3.6 scroll wheel scrolls too much

Ika

Lifer
I just upgraded to Firefox 3.6 and it appears that my scroll wheel now scrolls at least 50% more than it used to. This makes it kind of disorienting when I expect the page to scroll down to a specific point and it actually overshoots it by several lines. Anyone know if there is an option to change this, or do I have to just get used to it?

put this in the address bar:

about:config

There's a funny warning about voiding warranty. I LOVE those kinds of things. Warranties were made to be voided as x was made to n (substitute with your favorite!)

Anyhow, if you scroll down through the 'm' you should see what you want and be able to change this.

If you have third party software with your mouse (mouseware, intellipoint, etc.) you can probably change it there too.

Thanks, that got me on the right track.
Had to change two values:
1) mousewheel.withnokey.numlines
2) mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines

1)'s default was 6, although I'm pretty sure I was used to 3, because that's what I have mousewheel set to in Setpoint and probably what FF defaulted to before. Changed that to 3, but that didn't change anything immediately. Right-clicked 2) and Toggled it, that did the trick. Thanks.
