Firefox just got an update, and all it says in Help/About is 3.5, whereas it used to say 3.5b99

Ok. I just thought it was interesting, because the link you just gave calls it Beta 4 when you go to download it. Mine used to say 3.5b4 (or maybe it was b3) then updated to 3.5b99, and now today just says 3.5.

It does seem alot snappier than the 3.1 I had been using. I was using 3.6alpha for a little bit, but personas would not work with it so I went back. No issues that I can see so far.

The release candidate is only being released to beta testers. It will be available for general download later this week.

You can download the 3.5b4, then "update" Firefox and it will load you up with 3.5.

Does Roboform work with Firefox 3.5?
I'm not updating to 3.5, until they fix that.

it's a lot faster than 3.0.11...tried the location aware, and it says I'm in Austin, Texas lol, so doesn't work for me heh. Private browsing is nice to have too.

Just installed it on my work laptop ... Very fast. Only Tabmix Plus is not compatible so far.
All other add ons I use were ok. Will try it on my home computers later today or tomorrow.

OK .. What is and how do you use "location aware" ? ? I can't seem to find it

Just downloaded, seems ok. Tried the open source movie demo and it kept catching up to the download and stopping.
edit: Now that I've tried it for awhile it is a lot faster. Even sites that allow images load faster. Too bad about the open source movies, not sure what the deal is there.

I'm a very recent convert to Firefox from Opera.

One thing which is extremely annoying is not having a fully functional browser (outdated extensions).

What's even worse is it doesn't auto update, then I have to go find the newer version or a similar extension.

Didn't have to deal with that bs with Opera updates.

Firefox extensions do auto update if you enable that feature. I'm not sure how often they are checked though....

Logmein and Google Gears are both saying they will not work, and do not have updates.

Whoops, what I meant to say is that sometimes, extensions don't auto-update. Like in previous upgrades of Firefox, this one extension called "Paste and Go" never updated. So I looked for a replacement, and appearently, a new version was made.

Yeah they auto-update, but it's just annoying having to wait till the actual update comes out. So you're kinda stuck using the old version until you know your current extensions are compatible. (That is if you want your browser experience to be 100%.)

Yes, I saw that about Tab Mix Plus .. but that update is in beta. Should be ready to use in about a week or so, I would expect.

The Nightly Tester Tools extension can force enable any extensions that get disabled from updating. All the ones I use seem to work OK with 3.5. I use a default zoom of 20% and this new version really takes off the overhead that had from previous versions.
