Every release FF gets worse...of course most of my complaints are more around flash and everyone's obsession with using it and java for everything that works much faster in plain old HTML(and doesn't crash/ask me to upgrade every other day).

I wich firefox would streamline and optimize their browser. its getting too heavy and slow as was pointed out in the previous post. I still have hope they will do this.

I have Flash blocked, and only enable it once a week, if that. I don't use Java at all. If you're referring to javascript, then I agree it's overused, but Firefox does a good job with js. My problem with it is security/privacy based.

thank good Pale Moon exist to save us from this crappy browser that was once the king of all browsers

I agree 100% with what you said because i feel exactly the same way. i consider flash to be a security risk and the same for java so don't use these. if a website must be used with them then i remove the website from my bookmark.

Does this new release have that idiotic Australis interface ? ?
If it does, can it be brought back to look like V3 ? ?
Will all or most of my addons from FF27 work in FF28 ? ?
If not, will not be doing any more upgrades.

Thanks

Unfortunately in the business world, you cant say "I'm taking our 30 million dollar book of business to another partner because your website uses java!!!" Sometimes you simply can't get the job done without playing by their rules.

So, this is not the Australis version ? I guess that will be in Firefox 29
Is this release a final ?

sorry i believe that flash and java are the main cause of trojans on the internet so if a website has either than i remove it from my bookmarks. removing my visits is the easiest form of security for me. 😉

yeah don't upgrade and leave security holes open. Updates also include security patches.

Thus, the best solution is to switch to Pale Moon, be always updated with the latest security patches plus have a decent interface

I did update to V28 and so far all is fine. As to moving to Pale Moon, that may be a test in the future. Not sure how it stacks up against Firefox and if they have or can use the same addons as Firefox.

V29 gets Australis. ClassicThemeRestorer works well enough for me that I'm happy with it. I'm still irritated functionality was removed, but everything works as it should, so it's ok for the time being.

not sure how it stack up? it's the same, all addons work exactly the same, its built on the same source code but optimized, its speed blows Firefox out of the water.

I can never picture myself going back to FF

Pale Moon is overhyped as usual, believe me I have tried them all ie PM,Waterfox,Firefox,Chrome,Opera etc..

I've no issues with Firefox even with my extensions.

Thanks. My theory is part of the reason it is faster is that they disabled the check for spdy 2. It also seems faster on the mobile version.
