Firefox 21.0 bookmarks under Win7

I started using Firefox and subsequently its bookmarking.

Question #1: The bookmarks appear in a single column, what should happen when that column becomes full and I add one more bookmark?

Question #2: I think that my bookmarks may (possibly) be at the bottom of that column and I am now finding that Firefox is simply discarding any additional bookmarks. Is this normal operation?

Question #3: If not what could cause Firefox to discard additional bookmarks?

Note- I recently removed the infamous Microsoft Win 7 update that caused problems on some machines. I believe that my Firefox problem preceded this action, but am not positive about it.

I do make backup copies of my entire SSD disk, the only drive I have. If I have to revert to my backup I will lose a few miscellaneous odds and ends that I would find difficult to replace.

There should be an arrow at the very bottom or top of menu depending on position. Hover your cursor over that to scroll.
