Firefox 2.0 Downloads are not showing

Yeah.. I got firefox 2.0 the other week and lately whenever I download anything, the normal download box does not pop up.

I've checked the settings, and everything seems right.

I even can open up the downloads box by going to Tools>Download, however even while a download is in progress, it does not display that anything is being downloaded.

I'm guessing this is a bug...? Anyone else experiencing this?

Did you install the Download Statusbar extension? That hides your download status in an icon in the lower right corner of the browser.

Thats the easy way out. I realize this would most likely solve the issue.. but there are a number of features I like about 2.0 and would rather try to fix the issue before resorting to downgrading.

This happens to me sometimes as well. It's a hit or miss.

Tools, Options, Main Tab, Downloads ... make sure "Show the downloads window when downloading a file is" Checked

I said in my original post that I've checked the settings. Those were the settings. They are correct.

I also stated that I can open up the downloads tab (also ctr+j) and nothing will display as downloading even when it is.

No, I didn't.

I had the very same problem. I couldn't ever figure it out, but just downloaded the Download Statusbar extension and it's a great extension. Much better than the standard download window. Give it a try...you can always uninstall if you don't like.

No problems here downloading with Firefox 2 on both of my computers .. works fine

you know, i had that same problem before upgrading to firefox 2, i haven't checked yet, though, if i'm having that same problem after the upgrade
