change log?

Do the people just update because it's a higher version?

Probably not the case here, but I've had troubles updating software without looking what's actually changed since the last version.

My guess would be a security fix that couldn't wait until the next full number release. I haven't looked.

The patch seems to help. My FF would randomly freeze when I go to some sites.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Firefox-15-0-1-Fixes-Private-Browsing-Issue-290530.shtml

Mozilla uploaded to their servers a new, minor build for Firefox. The fresh revision, not officially available just yet, is 15.0.1 and it has been in the works for a few days. Its purpose is to address a bug affecting Private Browsing.

The trouble is that the private mode does not work in branch 15 of the browser. It appears that, instead of clearing the details about visited websites as soon as Private Browsing ended, Firefox simply stored them in the cache file. Also, the bug seems to have been reproduced with Aurora (17.0a2) and Nightly (18.0a1) branches.

Firefox for Android has also been moved to 15.0.1 on account of plug-in related stability issues. However, in this case the problems have been eliminated, but reports about keyboard problems on Play Store are investigated.

Probably, but it would be nice... if they could also give more details about this stuff. Seeing all the time, the general "security fix" tag puts my brain on fire. A potential keylogger could also mask under this.
