Firefox 1.5.0.5 becomes available... 8 days later 1.5.0.6

I got it this morning. However, I wonder if it caused some problems with some cached files. For example, the css file for slashdot.org didn't seem to load and the website didn't look right. I had to clear the cache to fix it. It's never happened before, so it may be just coincide with the update and not be related to it. It also happened with newegg.com, but at least newegg had a link to click on that might have refresh/reloaded the css.

Firefox 1.5.0.6 is a stability update that is part of our ongoing program to provide a safe Internet experience for our customers. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version.

* Fixed an issue with playing Windows Media content

Release Date: August 2, 2006

Sweet. Firefox crashed on me when I played certain content.

Thanks for the tip. Got it downloaded and installed. Works perfectly.

Sweet for some reason after it downloaded the 1.5.0.6 update now everytime I start FF it says files are in use and can't update it...

Maybe it's related but I got a lovely memory leak with 1.5.0.5, first memory leak in Firefox I've witnessed. That was 2 tabs open, and still going at 20MB/sec.

you could try beta 1 of Firefox 2.0
I've been using it since it was released and I find it to be very stable. I don't think I've had it crash once. I don't have any memory problems with it either and I use 24 extensions.

I hear beta 2 is scheduled for mid August though

Firefox wouldn't play the videos on CNN.com, but with this new .6 update it played ok, though the volume control wouldn't work. I had it set to open CNN in IETab which worked for the videos but would often cause FF to crash. I blamed it on IETab.

However, I'm trying to watch CNN video here at work with FF 1.5.0.6 and having no luck.

This wouldn't fix a crash, it undid an over-zealous security check (basically, if you had a video with an mms:// URL, Firefox 1.5.0.5 incorrectly blocks it... 1.5.0.6 doesn't).
