Firefox 0.9 question

Is it possible to make this browser open links from emails in the same window?

I'd like to know this too. It used to do that for me in 0.8...

maybe with some tab browser extensions.

There are ways to make it a "one-window" koisk style display. Not sure of the details and it could be that it will take a bit for nice extensions to be ported to 0.9 from 0.8 since it's so new.
