Great Show, even better than Red Dwarf, although one's an American Sci-Fi Soap and the other is British Sci-Fi Comedy
 
Ya, this was one of Fox's many victims. Shame it took them so long to figure out how to advertise. If only they could have pulled their act together and saved great shows like this and Arrested Development....
 
I saw Serenity, which I liked a lot. Love a good sci-fi show or movie. Might check this out. Thank the gods for Battlestar Galictica & Lost. 🙂
 
Serenity, the movie, was complete crap...it was just totally stupid. I see that as part of why the series did so poorly, who would want to watch a TV series if the movie itself sucked so bad. Weird thing is though, the series was much better. Overall Id give it a C.

Its still got allot of cheese and stupidity, but theres a good story hidden in there and its still entertaining to watch. Better than most of the junk on TV which I would rate an F or D at best. Though I cant think of any show at the moment that gets better than a C...just no real good TV shows anymore. (As a comparison Id give Stargate an A [before it turned to fargate])

To me its not worth money (partially because its incomplete) but its definately worth checking out. So for those who havnt seen it or maybe missed some on TV or whatever, www.hulu.com has the full movie and series for free. Legally.

Wow, you must completely miss the subtext of the series and movie.
How would the series do so poorly because the movie was crap? The movie came out years after the series was canceled. The series was THAT good that a movie got made for a TV show that was canceled after 15 episodes.
Don't let EliteRetard sway you from watching this show, as he is living up to his handle.

This is by far one of the best shows to ever air.
 
If you're a superfan, the series will be coming out on blu-ray and amazon is accepting pre-orders. $63 instead of $18 though 🙁

I'm a big fan too, but of course not everyone will love it. I won't defend it against anyone who saw it and didn't like it, but for anyone on the fence - it's probably one of the best series ever that you haven't heard of before. And since it's short, you dont' have to worry about getting sucked into something that you have to watch years and years worth of episodes. I'd give it an A+ if we were rating things, I went in skeptical but came away a big fan.

I have the series already on DVD, I'm sure I'll get it on Blu-ray as well. Even though it won't really be necessary, it's the dialogue and everything else that makes it so good, not the effects or anything else.
 
Actually the movie was just an extended episode to finish it off. ^_^ They canceled the series without running the last episode, left it at a cliffhanger of an ending. Everyone got angry and Fox FINALLY decided to finish it out for the fans that were out there years later.

So watch the series then the movie and you'll understand what's going on.
 
Great price for this set. I have given this set away for Xmas presents for the past couple of years and have stupidly always waited until the last minute to get the sets (when the price magically goes up to around $40 everywhere). Not this year.

This is the best blind buy I have ever made. Don't get the critic of the movie but to each his own.
