Firefly/Serenity

I watched Serenity without seeing Firefly and I didn't have trouble "getting it". But of course there are certain things I found weird (eg why they kept saying butchered Chinese phrases) but nothing that prevented me from understanding the overall plot.

Great movie BTW

I saw Serenity last night and loved it. I didn't realize it was connected with Firely (I've never seen the show) until I looked it up on IMDB.

That reminds me; I think I'm gonna go download a few episodes of Firefly.

You'll enjoy it more if you watch Firefly first, since most of the plot is following up on things introduced in the series.

I'd say it's good by itself, but very good having seen the series.

A bit, you'll know how things turn out before they're introduced. Kind of like watching Star Wars I-III after seeing the original trilogy.

If possible, see Firefly first. You'll get a lot more references in the movie, and understand way more of the character interactions.

While it's still quite an enjoyable movie without, I'd say it's preferable to see it after

Another question...

I just picked up the Firefly set after a friend recommended it. Should I watch the episodes in the order they appear on the disks? Or in order of when they aired? Or does it matter? They are all mixed up in airdate on the DVD set. Thanks!

Fox sucks and aired them out of order. Watch them in the order they appear on the DVDs.

Thanks! That's what I figured...

It's really too bad they decided stop the universe. I guess there were too many parallels to star wars

i really liked firefly and serenity. it had the perfect mix of everything for me and i actually cared about the characters. thats very rare for me for a tv series.

yeah.. the origin of those marauders or whatever they're called.

i don't think it will spoil the origin of the Reavers that much. they don't really play much of a role in the series. i think they encounter them once and just talk about them a few times if i recall correctly

I watched the movie first when it came out and then the series.

I think you need to watch the series first to get a better understand the characters such as the relationship of the pilot and the black gal, how Mel got his crew together, how the whole crew and passengers met, ect.

Don't be cheap. Go buy a copy. The more we boost sales, the more likely there will be more in the 'verse.

Browncoat 4 life!
