Firebird 0.7 / Thunderbird 0.3 released!

Confused

As many of you don't venture out of OT, thought I'd post here too as well as in Software 🙂

I've just noticed that Mozilla Firebird 0.7 and Thunderbird 0.3 have been released! 🙂

Go get them from the New-look Mozilla.org!

Edit: LordJezo has kindly provided a mirror, get it Firebird here 🙂

Confused

I did know about the Firebird release from it being posted on their forums - but thanks for the post.

BTW, with the new Firebird release, did you happen to notice if you can change the font to make it larger? I use Netscape's bookmarks as my home page in Firebird. The font is fine in Netscape but really small in Firebird. I tried to make changes in the Fonts/Colors section but to no avail.

How big do you need it?

cause I really like myie2, works with IE favorites.

Well for one Firebird isn't built on IE, so yeah, it's better.

When you first run Firebird, it will pull in your IE favourites automatically 🙂

Thanks for the help - had no idea it was that simple! The CTRL + mouse wheel down or up works like a charm. Best thing is I don't feel like Mr. Magoo anymore.

Thanks, again! 😉

I have tried mozilla, opera, itreesurf and myie2. myie2 is my favourite.

This is awesome. Mouse movement is also a lot smoother and now supports the middle button without any extensions 🙂.

Looks good. I've been using the firebird nightlies, so that's not much of a change, but I'm loooking forward to trying out Thunderbird .3.

ah thank god for that mirror the site is being hammered

A question for any of you firebird gurus, is tehre a specfic way to get java to work with mozillia? Cause everytime i try to view an applet or something of that nature it says i need a plugin. Even after i get the plugin. is tehre anyway to get it to work?

just installing the plugin should do it. If it asks you for the plugin directory point it to your firebird plugin directory. If you install it somewhere else or in mozilla directory some plugins may not work.

You'll need to switch a registry entry to get Java working. The mozilla installer does it for you but since Firebird doesn't have an installer you have to do it manually. Do a search on the Firebird forums for the proper process.

- Flash... You may have to download the stand-alone version of flash and simply copy/paste into your plugins folder.
- Shockwave... This will detect Mozilla properly and put the plugin in the right directory automatically (if you have problems use the above method.
