With the increasing amount of topics in Off Topic related to guns, I move to create a firearm forum. I will gladly moderate it.

I don't think that a few firearm threads warrant an entire forum. Plus, I think that we are better off with less forums, and more active Off Topic.

Keep the gun nuts, anti-gun nuts, religious nuts, non-religious nuts, and everyone else in OT, like a big dysfunctional family. I prefer it that way.

Seconded. And bring L&R back in so that relationship feedback comes from more than just people who need feedback themselves.

I'm for just two social forums: Politics and Political News (P&PN), and Off Topic. And the consolidation of the many tech forums, and many of the software forums. All the forums make for easy moderation, but less easy for navigation and thread participation. I think 10-15 forums should be the maximum. Probably won't happen, and I guess not even possibility until vB move at least, but I'm just throwing it out there because I know a lot of people feel the same way.

L&R has a benefit in that it's not publicly viewable, you have to be signed in. And people other than those who need feedback do view it ;)

Exactly. I actually prefer to keep L&R separate, there is a lot of stuff going on in there I have no desire to see.
