Yes, but it'll also do Amazon Prime steaming too, so it has access to 2 of the biggest media sources on the net...

Amazon really hadn't committed to streaming NetFlix, I was concerned that they wouldn't allow the app so you would be locked into their content on the device.

It's a $200 non contract device, not too bad...

Makes this even better but still waiting on reviews of this and the new Nook Tablet to finally make a decision.

Am I the only one expecting an official Amazon movie streaming app release about the time the Fire comes out?

Looks like it'll be the Fire for me. Might wait a couple weeks and see if one is easier to unlock though.

You can stream Amazon Prime content now on a mobile device with flash, but the experience isn't pleasant...

I think Amazon will keep it's Prime app specific to the Fire to drive sales.

makes sense if Amazon didn't lose money on each Kindle Fire. it'd make more sense to promote Prime on the entire Android system as opposed to locking it on a device that is being subsidized

Drive sales of what exactly?
I fail to see how not opening it to the entire system would increase sales.

That's like Amazon only limiting their Android Appstore to only Amazon devices.

Time will tell, I guess... As I said, you can stream Amazon Prime media to any Flash enabled browser already.

I thought it always had Netflix.

Last I heard they are making some tiny amount per device.

Anyway, I'm not going to get one at this time. The lack of TV-out is a real problem for me. I'm extremely tired of hooking my laptop up tot he TV to watch streaming vid and if this cost a few bucks more with HDMI out I'd be more inclined to get it. I still think it's a fantastic purchase for $200, but just not for me now.

At this point, doesn't practically every modern consumer electronic device with a screen attached to it have the ability to work with Netflix? :)

TV's, Game Consoles, Smartphones, Tablets... Hell, even glorified alarm clocks like the Sony Dash are available with Netflix support now.

It's like MP3 support back in the late 1990's... you're practically required to have that feature in your product for people to take it seriously.

Not me, but then again I don't take Netflix seriously. Their streaming catalog is so outdated it wasn't worth paying for IMHO.

It's the best, it's still kind of sad.

Depends on what you want. I have more than 200 items in my streaming queue, and tend to add more and more.

For me, it's almost limitless. but then I don't care about the absence of worthless Transformers-like crap. :\

Yeah, wish it would stream in HD to mobile devices. Oh well, at least I can see old cheesy movies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

I keep saying that I'm going to get rid of Netflix streaming, but then they release something really cool to watch on streaming like Spartacus, Mad Men, Walking Dead, or Breaking Bad.
