what if i have 8mbit connection but didn't neccessarily sign up for the comcast gamer package? Is it ok to sign ign? how do they check?

you have to use your primary account email thru comcast.net to sign up, there is not gamer package, you just have to have 8mbit cable.

So its a semi-repost. The other thread mentions the gamer package in the title, but doesn't explicitly mention the IGN membership, although its spelled out in the thread.

But yeah, if you have comcast 8mbit, this is a good deal.

it turns out they had upgraded me to 8mb and didn't really notify me. maybe they did, but i never checked my comcast email. anyway. sorry for the confusion.

comcast upgraded there top tier to 8mb last year... so right now its 6mbit and 8mbit options

I noticed I was getting 8mb when I was dl'ing and when I asked comcast about it, they said they upgraded people paying for cable tv service to 8mb for free. Don't know if they did this everywhere or what. Thats what the rep told me and I do have the 8mb and I'm not paying extra for it. They didn't up the upload speed tho, it is still the 384 up. Too bad. I would've rather they upped that. I'll take it tho!
