fire dan kolb

Braves fans best be worried if Dan Kolb continues to stink. He is just terrible and is such a downgrade from the fantastic John Smoltz. Kolb is very hittable and will cost the Braves more games unless someone else from the system or the bullpen steps up.

This is the second time I've seen Cox take out Kolb in a game. You never want to see that in a closer..usually you just live and die with them.

the announcers alluded to the fact that reitsma may become the new closer
 
Smoltz pitched great again and after 8 innings it was 2-1 in favor of the Braves.. in comes Dan Kolb in the 9th to save the game and yes.. he blew it again as the Padres win 3-2.

Kolb is just AWFUL. No amount of Mazzone magic dust is gonna save this dude.

he walked klesko to lead off the inning on 4 straight pitches. then got behind on giles immediately. you cant be making closer mistakes like that when facing the heart of a teams lineup. chances are its going to bite you in the ass. and it did tonight. like you said in the other thread, smoltz had a 2-run lead and 3 outs to go. he probably wishes he went back out there and closed it out. oh well, live and learn.
 
dont forget reitsma, i swear those two guys have blown just about every other game they have pitched in....RELEASE THOSE LOSERS!

How hard is it to get 2-3 outs for the beaucoup bucks they make?
 
Reitsma was awesome this season before yesterday's game, but Kolb just blows. Kolb blew 4 games already & 3 of which were games where Smoltz should've won!!! Damn you Kolb!
 
couple of interesting facts...
The Padres scored three runs in the eighth inning Monday night to beat the Braves 5-3, and scored 10 in the seventh Sunday to beat the Florida Marlins 12-4.

The Braves have led in the eighth or ninth inning in each of their last four losses.
