Also, I didn't watch the video in the article; I don't need to see that sort of stuff. But, the image clearly shows that he's in a shower. The kid who died wasn't anywhere near a shower. Further, one contributing source to death, and very possible from the location of the fire is due to this thing humans do: breathing. Inhaling very hot air can burn the lungs, reducing their ability to do what they're supposed to do, plus the burns in the lungs cause all sorts of other bad things (fluid to build in the lungs).

Was my first thought also.

Natural Selection rears it's ugly head again.

I don't even care if this person died or not I guess, it's just a matter of how soon in the future at that point.

"The #FireChallenge involves covering your body with an accelerant and setting yourself on fire. "

Lmao... how stupid can ya be?

Zero sympathy. Reminds me of that stupid jump in front of a train without it hitting you game o_O

is it wrong that I laughed when the idiot looked surprised that after rubbing a fuel source all over his skin that he instantly became a torch when he applied a flame near his skin?

Man it didn't look bad enough at the end to kill him.

That wasn't the video of the kid being burned to death. The article said the one who died did not have a water source near by. I think the video in the link was just an example.

Do you people even read the article? If anyone here read the article every single person should know that the video was not the actual incident that is being talking about. Like no wonder people believe everything they read on the internet they don't take the time to read or even do a little research.[/QUOTE

It isn't. The article said the person who died wasn't in a shower, the guy in the video is.
What I don't understand is if he was in the shower when his body was engulfed in flames, why did he jump out and scream waaaaaader, waaaaaader!

the stupidity is contagious

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (CBS St. Louis) — A 12-year-old girl is the latest victim to suffer horrific burns taking part of the “fire challenge” she saw on Facebook and YouTube.
Daisey Schumer tells KFVS-TV that she was lit on fire after someone poured perfume on her.
“This person poured the perfume on my stomach and then I told her to stop. Then she lit the lighter and I was rolling on the ground, trying to get it out and it burned my back,” Daisey told KFVS.
Daisey and her friend, Danielle Carter, said they saw “fire challenge” videos before on Facebook and YouTube.
“They poured alcohol on them and then they lit the lighter,” Daisey told KFVS of the videos she saw.
Daisey was hospitalized after suffering severe burns on her back from the “fire challenge.”
Cape Girardeau Fire Battalion Chief Mark Starnes said they are getting reports of more people going to the emergency room over this challenge.
“These kids are starting to challenge themselves more and more in a very dangerous way,” Starnes told KFVS.
Starnes added: “We are starting to get more and more people that are confirmed going to the ER and we’ve had one confirmed death.”
In Kentucky, a 15-year-old boy is recovering after also suffering burns lighting himself on fire in part of the challenge.
Videos of the “Fire Challenge” show people spraying themselves with aerosol cans before lighting portions of their body on fire in order to singe off their own hair.
Cape Girardeau authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

How can a fire challenge go according to plan, OP? Either scenario, you're still on fire.

Yeh what is the challenge? I gurantee that if I soak you in a flamable liquid, I can light you on fire.

according to plan you're in a shower or a pool and half a second after you ignite you're submerged in water and no longer on fire. Stupid? Very much so, reminds me of the ice challenge we use to do back in the 80's. 2 kids at my school had to have a few fingers removed from sever frost bite after "winning" at it.
