I live on the 4th floor in a Condo complex. Right now the Fire Alarm is going off...But I'm right here typing this

My DAMNED annoying and LOUD alarm goes off whenever ANY alarm in the building is set off. That means there's probably some BOOB on the 1st floor who burnt some toast and now I've gotta hear the thing.

The integrated Fire Alarm, a blessing and curse all in one.

If cinders start falling in your lap, get your ass outta there. You don't want to lose that, you might need it someday.

Nah, no danger.

The alarm has stopped. Too bad the Fire Dept basically has to come out every time that thing goes off.

For the first few weeks of school, that was happening in my hall a lot. Personally, I *never* would have left the building if my roommate hadn't nagged me about it (especially that time it went off at 3am).

Then one weekend it went off at 6am and my roomate was gone, so I just went back to sleep. :D

It was funny hearing everyone curse in the hallway while I drifted back to dreamland.

Hahaha dood, fire alarms in dorms isn't a laughing matter. People have died from fires in their dorms because they ignored fire alarms and thought it was just another prank. Better hope that door in your room is fire proof rated, lol.

what is it, desensitzation? like car alarms, it's to the point where it's a common annoyance rather that a warning..

false alarms have me worried in my dorm also. If there is a fire I sure as hell want to know about but it is also annoying when a false one goes off at 3am.

When I lived in the dorm, if we stayed in our room during a fire alarm and were caught, we'd be fined. Of course, it was impossible to be caught since the RA's had to rush out of the building to help in clearing us away from the building.

Naturally, my friends had to set the alarm off twice during the school year when RAs were honing in on a room with a keg in it.

yeah dood. There was a fire in the dorms on my university a couple of years ago. A group of kids lit a sofa on fire and stuck it in the hallway. The students who were in the room right near the sofa died. So fires in dorms isn't a laughing matter. I also believe there was a big fire at Rutgers university or at a university near the North-East that killed many students too.
