Is Verizon going to even try to make a FIOS push in AT&T dominated areas or what?!

I've had FiOS since September...and they seen to raise rates every month by a $ or two!
The best part is getting ESPNU and NFL TV

I'm also thinking of getting FIOS and FIOS TV soon. What's your monthly payment for the whole thing? Right now, I have cable. I especially like Verizon's multi-room DVR. I'm just not sure if I can use it for two independent HDTV signals for TVs in different rooms.

I don't have pics of the process, but I'll take some pictures later and - nothing really too different for the cable side, but I'll show everything else for data and stuff. I'll also post how it all works - process...

Still checking FIOS website everyday almost to see if they have it here yet.

no point in checking. you'll know when you see the trucks digging around the area :)

I will never get it most likely.. and I'm in a roll out county :( Townhome+unmarketable area = DSL for me.

Guess who's on FIOS? :)

Pretty nice!

I also got FIOS TV. The tech told me that the multiroom DVR is only compatible with the standard set top box. It doesn't work with the HD boxes. That sucks because I had to get two hi-def DVR boxes. Luckily, they have a $100 reward for signing up, so that should pay for a few months of hi-def DVR.

at least they will give you 2 DVR boxes, Comcast only gives out 1 DVR box per household. :(

I have FIOS Internet and I love it too. I've been thinking about signing up for FIOS TV, but it's $43 extra dollars per month I don't want to pay. Maybe when I get an HDTV. Are you satisfied with it, thus far?

Yep. I'm satisfied with Fios TV so far. The quality is great, but the international channels that I got are heavily pixelated from close. However, if you stand like 10 ft away, they look ok.

By the way, is this about right for my download and upload speed?

I got the 15mbps/2mbps package.

Its not quite the speed it should be but really speed tests can be pretty inaccurate the highier the speed you go. Try real downloads from fast sites.

Qacer: Some speed is automatically lost (I think like 7 or 8%) and sometimes some software might slow the tests down. The download seems a bit low for 15mbps. You should be getting around 1800KB/sec. Upload seems fine. Try the test again from the same site or a different one.

I have the 5mbps/2mbps package.

Download :: 5205 Kbps or 5.21 Mbps (635 kB/s)
Upload :: 1762 Kbps or 1.8 Mbps (215 kB/s)

Thanks for the 2nd line. It was showing that I was getting 10000+ Kbps. Still not up to par with the 15Mbps rates, huh?

Verizon strung up some fiber lines last week in my neighborhood. Bout freaking time. My friend 1 mile away has had it for 10 months. And the next town over has FiosTV. I'm live in Lawrenceville/Princeton NJ.
