heh-heh...I used to like a couple of percodan washed down with a couple of good strong mixed drinks...:p

I was all about the vicodine or norcos and whiskey, I had some wacky times going out with that combo lol.

I'm on the same boat as you, I like the high a little too much so I try to avoid it for my own health reasons. I used to take painkillers and drink every so often, its a very bad combination that can kill you.

A dose of Fioricet w/ Codeine makes me feel "funny" for about 15 minutes. After that, the headache is mostly gone for about 6 hours. It works but I'm sure I'll build up a tolerance eventually.

I'm still baffled as to why the doctor has no problem having me addicted to a barbiturate but is hesitant to give the narcotic as well. She prescribed the regular Fioricet with several refills...

I was able to squeeze in an appointment with the neurologist today. She is a cutie (slim, mid 30s). My Blackberry doesn’t have a camera, so no pics.

Anyway, she reviewed my prescription history and felt that the first neurologist botched my stint on Topamax. He had only given me the base does for a month and abandoned it when it didn’t work. She wants me to try it and slowly increase the dosage for at least 3 months.

She also wrote a prescription for a small amount of the Fioricet w/ Codeine to help me while I give the Topamax a go. I guess in Florida a doctor is allowed to write one prescription for a narcotic. After that, they have to refer you to a pain management specialist. Once this runs out, I will have to stick with the normal Fioricet until we find out if there are results with the Topamax.

If the Topamax is a bust, she wants to do another MRI and possibly try anti-depressants. Then, she started talking about injections for headaches. She also mentioned some vitamins may help (B2 and magnesium).
