I like them both, and Rufus Wainwright's too.
With covers, it's often subjective whether the original is "the best" and choosing your favorite doesn't mean you have to label other versions as far inferior. Some random examples:
Little Wing - Jimi, Concrete Blonde, SRV, even Sting's version are all good.
Hallelujah - I prefer Jeff Buckley to Cohen's original but I enjoy both
Jealous Guy - Bryan Ferry's over Lennon's by a hair but again, that's just my preference.
Ship Song - loved the Nick Cave original, and the covers by both Concrete Blonde and Heather Nova, all good.
Persuasion - Richard Thompson's original instrumental was good, Tim Finn's version with lyrics added was better, and RT with Teddy Thompson covering Finn's version was best of all.
