"Finna" - what does this really mean?

Ebonics just baffles me. It makes zero sense...

I can only assume that means "I am outfitting myself to perform the following action."

Am I right?

"Finna" = "fixing to" = "preparing to" do something.

Or that's my guess based on working with ghetto rats over the years and trying )often unsuccessfully) to decipher their ebonics-speak.

Ebonics is just wierd. We get utterly baffled by it when we get some one speaking it heavily (luckily it doesn't happen often).

I remember once a nurse I was working with just kept asking the patent "You can speak English? Why do you speak in that silly way? WE... CANNOT... UNDERSTAND... YOU."

Was probably a good thing that the nurse was Nigerian 😛

Funnily enough the patient did then speak understandable English.
