Alright going to be finishing my new build. Placing the order tomorrow and i'm still uncertain about a few things. The only thing i'm reusing is my 500GB storage drive and maybe a dvdr drive but i have so many of those lying around it doesn't matter. So far for my new build i cashed in on the MC deal and pick up a 3570k and a GB UD3H MB and about 8 gigs of ram for about 320 ish i think.

I still got a few things to pick up including a case thinking of going with a NZXT Phantom. I'm also kind of the fence about SSD i would really like to put up a 120GB one and i also want to pick up a 1TB barracuda drive as well

I'm skipping on a GPU right now as my interest in gaming is waning just a bit no doubt to pick up much later but lets just say that stream acct has nearly 700$ worth of games that i can play at will not to mention all my Origin stuff as well as Blizzard. I am getting into encoding as i like to download stuff and add subs to it and make it viewable on a PS3 or 360.

I also need a PSU and i have no idea what a good brand is these days. I do want it to be modular.

Does NZXT make decent PSUs? To finish my build i have about another 300-400ish to complete it.

So i just need your opinion on SSDs is the performance worth extra cost? A decent PSU and since i have no plans to OCd right now should i even be interested in a CPU cooler? I do like the look of the Xigmatek Dark knight cooler.

I'm open to all suggestions thanks!

^ Cooler Master extreme powers are not good PSUs. They can't supply even 80% of their full rated power cleanly and they are not 80 Plus certified.

Phantom and Phantom 410 are nice looking cases but that's what you pay for. There are better cases for the money if you're fine with more minimalist looks. E.g. NZXT Tempest 410 Elite, Antec 302, Antec 1100, Corsair 400R, Fractal Design Arc Midi.

Antec, Corsair, NZXT, XFX, Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling. Basically all of these are Seasonic-manufactured with the exception of some units from Antec and Corsair.

I'd recommend Seasonic M12II 520W $60, won't find a better deal on a modular Seasonic

In my opinion, yes. You'd need to test one out to say for yourself whether it's worth the cost... You can get a 128GB SSD for as low as $90

Not unless you're sensitive to fan noise. I'd recommend building it with the stock cooler first, and if the noise level is fine then you won't need an aftermarket cooler until you OC.
