Well I'm finally about to finish up my build(E6600, DDR2-800, 8800)and I'm stuck on what motherboard to get now that the P35 boards are out. I was content on the Asus P5N32-E Sli Plus at first but now I'm kind of lost on what to get.

I'm basically looking for a board that supports the 45nm CPUs coming out, SLI, eSATA, dual lan(can sacrifice)good overclocker and stable for $220 or less. I don't plan on overclocking, SLI or buying a new 45nm CPU anytime soon but I'd like the option.

The reviews on the Sli Plus were excellent all around with the major complaint being how hot it gets. One review said it has eSATA on the back but I'm either blind from all the graphs I've numbed my brain with or they are mistaken. It has 1333 FSB support so will it be compatible with the new Intel CPUs coming out?

All the P35/65, 650i, 680i and the SLI plus hybrid reviews have my head spinning.. PLEASE throw me out some suggestions:laugh:

Screw it, SLI + it is.. P35s will never support SLI. I'll just buy an internal/external adapter for eSATA and hope the board will be compatible with the 1333FSB CPUs.

There's not much of a selection yet. One fellow had memory issues with the wi-fi asus board, and prices are high. I would look into a temporary board until more p35's are available and prices fall. Newegg has some open box boards fairly cheap.

kapoww, if you can manage to hold out just a tad longer, you'll have more P35s to select from. For example, Abit's new top of the line IP35 Pro should be coming out mid June and should cost the same as a vanilla Asus P5K. You can pick from the existing mobos of course, but bear in mind only the P35s will eventually support Penryn/Wolfdale 45nm CPUs coming out 4Q07/1Q08.

I've been waiting since a month before the first Intel price cuts happened and I can waits no more. I'm on an irritating P4 520 Prescott, gig of DDR400 and a malfunctioning open box Albatron mobo I got from Newegg. I'll just buy the new stuff next year if it's that big of a leap from what I'm upgrading to now.
