I've just finished a Masters in Accounting doing it full time for the past two years, but I can't figure out how to market myself to employers.

Many jobs go through recuirtment agencies, and they base job performance on past experience, which I have, but it was two years ago so I feel out of the working loop.

Any tips?

Now you study for the CPA exams. Pick a test date, develop a structured program for your studies, and do it. Your school may have a CPA prep program. This is extremely useful if you want to pass the CPA exams.

Edit:
Except now I see you are in Australia. I have no idea how your system works.

A few of my friends got jobs at firms that offered them money if they passed the whole cpa by a certain time point. I think Deliott and KPMG were two of them that picked up testing fees, which can be 1k, or so I've heard.

We have CPA and CA here (chartered accountants) and the way it's supposed to work is accountants go work at one of the big 4 accounting firms until the firms pay for them to get their CPA or CA, then they quit and go into the private sector.

But the catch is the big accounting firms here only hire graduates through graduate programs, which in the recent economic downturn many have axed a lot of available positions. Not to mention all the graduate roles do not start until Jan 2011.

It's a real catch-22 here as finding a job here requires experience, yet many fresh graduates do not have the right experience to even get a recuiter to look at their resume.
