Some people like a clean desk. I have a head-phone stand also. I don't like having wires strewn all over my desk.

I'm guessing you don't have a set of nice headphones with a thick long ass cable...

It's hard to put it somewhere convenient that doesn't equal to just putting it laying on a shelf/desk with cables everywhere.

Yea, I toyed back and forth with a larger base, but I had a small place I was going to use it so I was limited in my choices.

I was worried about stability at first, but the weight of the metal is so great (its solid as HELL) that it keeps the center of balance all the way at the back). I threw my DT770's up there at the same time and its not going anywhere. I could probably get 4+ headphones up on there without worrying about it tipping.

I agree, OP's design is much to classy for Apple, it doesn't flow with their cheap-ass Tupperware lid design philosophy.

You only have 1 pair of fat cans? What's the matter w/ you! You need at least 3, I thought you knew that being a head-fi member and all.

I have DT770's sitting nearly new in my closet. Got them 2-3 weeks ago but they aren't my cup of tea. Trying to sell them rather than pay shipping and return them.

I had a banana stand awhile back, but the thin metal hanger made a mark on the headband, so I prefer something wider.

Hmm from the pics it seems like you have a really clean set up overall. Wanna post a workspace picture?

I was looking into making one out of PVC pipe (make a shape, connect them and then glue them, then sand and paint, and then wrap the part the headphones would hang from in padding and a nice material).

I only use my headphones at work, where my only cables are:

- Power cord into iMac
- USB into slim apple Keyboard
- USB to mighty mouse.
- Headphones

Short of going wireless, I don't think I'm going to do much better with my cables seeing as it's all in a 3sqft area and all the cords start right next to each other.... short of attaching them to my desk or something.
