fingertips start swelling up suddenly?

so i went out to shovel some snow and after i came back in and made a phone call to get a doctor's appointment (for a mild touch of bronchitis) my pinky fingertips started swelling up and getting numb, then my ring fingers, and now i can feel it starting in my middle fingers... it is only in my fingers on both hands, nothing anywhere else, and the swelling is almost entirely in the tip. should i be concerned? is this a sign of some other problem that i need to get checked out right away? i'm going to see a dr. in about 5 hours so i will bring it up with them but should i try to do something about this?
the reason i ask a message board is because, well, i dont have anyone else to ask i guess.
thanks

No worries, its how your body handles physcial labor it hasn't dealt with for over 2 years . . It will go down. Think of it like blue balls.

To much pressure you need to stick a pin in each offending finger tip to let the pressure out. If that doesn't work try using a small drill bit to drill into the first knuckle on each finger about 3/4 of an inch.

Damn where is the AT Medical Diagnosis forum???? 😛

I'd suggest getting a space heater 🙂

And I think your fine, as long as it doesn't affect your stool.

A revelation! The tip of your finger got colder than the rest of your finger causing the blood to move much slower at the tips, thus causing a slight build up(swelling) of blood!

Yes yes oh yeah can you feel that buddy? huuuuh huuh?

I have exersized the demons!!

yea idk, i thought it was just the cold until it started to spread to other fingers after going back inside... a hot shower seems to have at least stopped it from spreading anymore. oh well thanks at least for the laughs 🙂

Clubbing of the fingers (enlarged tips) is a common clinical feature in certain types of bronchitis and can be exasterbated by cold. I highly recommend going to see the doctor.

As for before your appt, there isnt much you can do, just keep them warm and wait.
